Moldova trade facilitation is ranked best among neighbors and CIS countries

Moldova was ranked first among CIS countries and neighbors (Romania/Ukraine) in the The Global Enabling Trade Report 2009. Moreover Moldova is ranked 6th globally (from total 121 countries) by the Market Access index.

The Enabling Trade Index measures the factors, policies and services that facilitate the trade in goods across borders and to destination.

The index considers following factors:
1. Domestic and foreign market access
2. Efficiency of customs administration
3. Efficiency of import-export procedures
4. Transparency of border administration
5. Availability and quality of transport infrastructure
6. Availability and quality of transport services
7. Availability and use of ICTs
8. Regulatory environment
9. Physical security
